Infinite Loop is reporting that some users were erroneously charged to the tune of £121, and Apple is offering those users another free month of service.
Apparently, when someone tries to create a trial account in the UK, a 50p pre-authorization is placed on the user’s credit card. (Not unlike buying fuel and paying with a credit card.) Unfortunately, instead of 50p, someone mashed the keypad, and users were billed £121 instead.

Many Apple customers waited for their new service long time (especially old .Mac users) and .Mac service has been restored with new name which called Mobile Me at least. I said it has been restored because of that they only changed thing is brand name and they added more features and applications on it. However, many people couldn’t satisfy with new service sometimes. Because of that Apple sent an excuse letter to each Mobile Me users and they apologized from them because of Mobile Me failure. They planned to open the Mobile Me service in 2 week ago but users faced some problems and Apple couldn’t give full service their users on it at that time. Shifting Mobile Me from .Mac was little sad to everyone. Mobile Me servers broke down and service was unavailable sometimes.

We all know how rocky the transition from .Mac to MobileMe has been. It now seems to be working for quite a few folks (at least to some degree), and Apple has already pushed out an update for the service. The Mac OS X Update for MobileMe 1.1 is available now through Software Update. Note that if you aren’t yet seeing the update, try signing out of .Mac via System Preferences and then back in again — you should see a dialog asking you if you want to download the update.

The above message has been posted to the .Mac Tips website. As you can see .Mac members are being told to sync their .Mac bookmarks to a computer (Mac or PC) by July 6th because web access to bookmarks is no longer going to be supported in MobileMe (.Mac’s replacement). The July 6th date is actually a few days later than the one Apple first gave in this KB article (June 30th). It looks like Apple wants to give all .Mac members as much time as possible to get their bookmarks in order.

According to Apple Support documents, personal domains will be kept intact with MobileMe. Blogger Sean Sperte noticed a “personal domain” option while watching the MobileMe quick tour. That prompted some investigation which led to this support document. Sure enough, it confirms that .Mac personal domains will remain untouched by the change:

Macrumors is reporting that for some .Mac users, using a me.com email address seems to be working. For instance, if your .Mac account name is username, sending an email to username@me.com works the same as sending one to username@mac.com.
Your mileage may vary — as of 8:35 PM EDT on Saturday, June 28, 2008.
